I don't think I have ever been so happy to see the end of week as I was last week. It has been a very stressful one at work, but one which ended in a successful outcome with some stuff I have been pouring over for weeks and I declared to my boss that I am not turning on my laptop all weekend, and so far I have lived up to my promise to myself!!
This weekend Gord and Chris went to Tremblant for a guys ski weekend. They had an amazing weekend to do this weather wise. I guess they got tons of runs in so they thought it was a pretty good time. Gord got home much sooner than I expected, and he's right back at the renovations in the basement with his favourite helper - Erin!!
Richinda was a fabulous help to me by picking up Erin on Friday. This allowed me to go to my late meeting and bring the horses in - my first time doing that on my own by the way. It was pretty dicey and I was pretty sure I was going to have to call Jamie or Richinda to bring Addie in, but in the end I got them all in safe and sound for the night! Anestasia helped me out Saturday night, and I was happy to get the help!!
I went over to pick up Erin and was immediately met by Erika asking me if Erin could sleep over. In order to allow Jamie to get some sleep so he could get to work, we agreed to a compromise to have Erika come to our house on Saturday night. Erin's first friend to sleep over!! We ended up staying for dinner, which is always great, because hey, I didn't have to cook!! I think Erin fell asleep about 5 minutes after we got home, and I fell asleep about 1/2 hour later!!
Saturday we went into Ottawa to spend the day with Jo and the boys. We took the kids to the Funzone in Kanata and off they went. It was nice that Jo and I could catch up! The kids played for a couple of hours, we had lunch, did a wee bit of shopping, then headed back to their place where we promptly sent the kids outside to play in the backyard! Again, more catching up time for Jo and I!! Erin and I left just before 4:00pm and headed to run a couple of errands before heading over to pick up Erika for the sleepover!
Those girls didn't stop giggling from the second they ran into the house! They played for a while, ate the pizza we picked up for dinner, then the two of them decided to have a bath together. Well, you can only imagine the giggles at this point. Two girls in a big bubble bath.....priceless laughter! They decided that they wanted to have a campout in the living room but we had to make a tent. Four chairs, a fluffy duvet as a base, and two big blankets later, not to mention six pillows, the tent was created! Check out the pics!!

The girls settled in around 8:00 to watch a couple of movies Erin and I picked up - horse movies of course.... They sat up and giggled while eating Erin's chosen special treat of cheezies. Erin started to crash at 9:00 and Erika at about 9:30. Both slept like logs!! I couldn't believe it when they woke up at 6:30!!! Now that's cruel!! I was up around 6:00, but I was lazing in bed and really would have liked to have done so for a while longer!! I made the girls cinnamon rolls for breakfast and off they went to play again. I sent them outside so I could clean up a bit, but it is nasty windy out there today, so it wasn't long before they asked to come in. Erika went home a few hours ago, but I think the girls had lots of fun and are planning their next stay soon!!
Well, a new week is starting tomorrow. The end of the week will bring us a new month... again where is the time going??!! I am hoping to catch up a bit on my regular work. Erin only has two days of school this week, but Wednesday they are having a Read-a-thon and they get to wear pj's into school. Sigh... no way I had that much fun at school!!! Other than that, it should be a pretty routine week.
By the way, Erin came home on Wednesday and decided it was Lamby's birthday! Here is the birthday lamb with his favourite little girl!!!

Seventeen more days until we go to the Dominican!!!!!
