Okay, so I have let three weeks go by..... again!

So here we are, over half-way through January already. I have said it hundreds if not thousands of times, but I still can't believe how quickly time flies by.

To recap the events of the month, I'll go back to the first week. Hmmmm, what went on then. Well, I guess we went back to work and Erin went back to Daycare. She has a new teacher this year, as her previous pre-school teacher Ann decided to retire. She will be missed! Erin likes her new teachers though - she knew them already - Linda and Marsha. I'm quite glad because she was and still is so happy to be there! You know, honestly, the month has been pretty ho hum so far. The weather has been a bit wonky of course, with temperatures in the teens one day and a snow storm the next! We actually have snow on the ground as of earlier this week and I have to admit that I am getting tired of it already!! Ah to be so spoiled with the nice weather we had this year (so far)!

Erin has started gymnastics lessons in Smiths Falls. The first week wasn't the best. Erin has her moments of being a bit of a drama queen (not sure who she gets that from.....), but we were there again this morning and she had a ball! This past week I have been swamped as my boss is away. He, his wife and some friends of theirs went on a 'working holiday' if you will, to Nicaragua. They went to help build a community centre / school in a village. He's back next Tuesday and I'm sure he will have some interesting stories to tell. I went to a conference in Toronto on Wednesday that was fantastic. It was a whirlwind trip though, because I flew out of Ottawa in the early morning and flew home that afternoon. Being up at 3:45am caught up to me the next day in a big way!!

Last weekend Erin and I decided to go and have a visit with Jo-Ann, Aidan and Cole. Their dad Chris was away, so we thought it would be fun to go and have a play for a while - and of course I could have a visit with Jo! Tonight we have been invited over to have dinner at a neighbour's place, so Erin can play with Emma and Erika for the evening - that should be a nice night.

As I was thinking back on last year in preparation for doing a bit of a re-cap of highlights, and looking at this January, it dawns on me that many January's are not filled with all that much. I suppose most people are recovering from Christmas and since January tends to be a colder month, people go into a hibernation mode! We have a few things coming up, most notably Aidan's 6th birthday party! It looks like we are going to go to see the Ottawa Senator's skills competition. This is okay with us (we have been several times in the past), because we thought about getting hockey tickets for Erin this year, but I'm not convinced Miss-Never-Stop-Moving could sit through an entire game yet!! She should enjoy this. We are also preparing for Valentines day with a few decorations.

Anyway, I will post again soon with the year in review. For now, enjoy the pics of Erin shovelling the snow with Daddy today!!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!! I had a couple of minutes while Gord and Erin worked on some projects around the house, so I thought I would post up a couple of new pics and send everyone good wishes for 2007. I have a feeling it's going to be a great year!

Erin and I had a great time at Charlotte's Web. It was very well done. Of course the problem is that she wants a pig now..... go figure!! We brought in the new year taking down all of the decorations, watching The Office, Season 2 on DVD, and doing some clean up and watching the freezing rain pour down. Mind you it's 8 degrees today and the snow (and ice) are melting fast!

Anyway, check back soon as I am planning a highlights from 2006 post with some new pics from the year that was.

Take care and until next time.....
