Time just flies by

I can hardly believe it's Thursday. The week has positively flown by. Monday came and went as my only day at work (in the office), followed by a couple of days in Mississauga for business. I was happy to be home Wednesday night, and today brought a fun trip for Erin and I. Today was her Kindergarten year-end school trip. We went to Valleyview Little Animal Farm, just south-west of Ottawa. What a fun day! I do know now why I only have one child! I had a group of 4 and whew, it was hard work keeping my eye on all of them!!! I didn't lose any of them though, so yeah for me!!!! Erin had a ball. This is where it all began for her love of goats! I can't believe I forgot my camera....

Speaking of goats, Minnie has been in time out for some time now. She continues to be oblivious to the electric fence, and we are trying to save the new trees we recently planted, not to mention my flower beds! Poor Minnie..... I understand why the woman we bought her from keeps her goats in most of the time!!!

Tomorrow is a school day for Erin and I will be happily joining Jo and her mother for a pedicure in Ottawa!! I'll also be stopping to start to pick up items for Gord's sister Patricia's wedding.

Saturday promises to be fun for us - it is the Merrickville Public School Village Social. The forcast right now is calling for rain, but everyone has their fingers crossed it will hold off.

Well, I'm going to keep this one short and sweet. Enjoy the pics from Sunday's swimming starring Erin, Emma and Erika!!

Swimming.....in our own pool!!!

Well, it's felt like we've been waiting ages, but today the gas fitter was out and hooked up our pool heater. Gord let the pool heat up all day and tonight in we all jumped!!! Enjoy the pics!!!

Today we also had fun at Aunt Patricia's bridal shower! I was a bit coy about putting any details about today in the blog, because I'm not sure if Aunt Patricia reads the blog or not!! A good time was had by all, and Patricia was VERY surprised!! I'm going to get some pictures from Anestasia, then I will post them!

Fun time in Florida!

Whew! Our whirlwind week is now behind us and what a fun week it has been!!!

Monday started with a fun trip to the circus in Kemptville. Erin had an absolute ball! She loved the clowns and the acrobats! She rode an elephant and a camel and had her face painted by one of the clowns. Of course I forgot my camera so no pics of the rides, but one of a sad little girl who didn't want her face painting taken off the next morning!!!

Wednesday we left for Syracuse to start our trip to Florida! Erin was pretty upset when Gord left. It didn't last too long - we went for a run down the hotel hall to get ice and ended up spilling ice cubes all over the floor. We were both laughing so hard, Erin forgot about how sad she was when Daddy left to go back home. We were up bright and early to catch our flight, which went off smoothly. North Bay Grampa was at the airport in Tampa waiting for us. We spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool and got a bite to eat because we wanted to get some sleep for our trip to Disney World the next morning!

Hotel - On our way to Florida!!!

Friday morning was spent at the Magic Kingdom. Erin was just blown away! We did a bunch of rides and walked around, watched the parade and she got to pick out her very first pair of mouse ears!! Check out the pic below!!! There were no princess mouse ears when I went to Disney as a little girl!!!!

Saturday we went back to Disney and toured about Animal Kingdom. I can't believe it's 10 years old now. Gord and I were there just shortly after it opened. It has changed quite a bit. Erin got to meet Pocahontas and even got to open her show!!! She also got to meet Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger!!!

Sunday was spent touring the Gulf coast, stopping at the beautiful beaches and collecting shells. We had a bbq back at the condo and made an early night of it because we had to leave for the airport at 3:30am for our 6:00am flight - yikes!!!!

The weather was HOT! Of course when we got back to Syracuse, it was FREEZING, so I was lamenting for the heat!!!

The rest of Monday was spent at Andreas' birthday party. I can't believe he is 14!!!!!

Erin is glad to be home to see Daddy, but says she misses Grampa!!! She's back to school and daycare and happy to be with her buddies again!

She was wonderful to travel with - even at JFK airport! We had short stopovers at JFK and we made the most of it by playing games. The people around us were laughing and even joining in while we played a rousing game of "Mummy, count to 10 and I won't laugh!!" You can imagine the giggles out of both of us - not to mention those sitting near us - when she never made it past 4!!! We did that for the better part of an hour, so it helped pass the time!

I am excited to go back to Florida later this year with Jo, Chris and the boys. We are going to stay at the Disney resort, so the beauty will be that we can go a short distance back to our room if the kids need a break!

Anyway, it was a great time!!!

We have a busy bunch of weeks and weekends ahead. We have a tea party at Gord's cousin Brenda's Saturday, I'm away in Toronto for work early next week, next Thursday is the Kindergarten year-end trip to Valleyview Little Animal Farm (I'm an escorting parent!!), next Friday I'm off to the spa with Jo and her mom, next Saturday is the Village Social at Erin's school, then of course on June 7th, Aunt Patricia is getting married!! We also have my work's family picnic coming up on June 14th...... Sigh..... I'm tired already!!! We will find some relaxing time too - our pool will be ready for swimming this weekend, just in time for the warm weather!!
Anyway, enjoy the pics!

Ahhhh....back home to Charlie!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the great mums, mamas, moms, mothers I know out there!!

It's only by coincidence that I managed to prevent an entire month to go by without posting to the blog. Needless to say... it has been BUSY lately!!

All is well with everyone, but as I said we have all been pretty swamped. Work has been wildly busy for me, but all is going well.

Erin continues to love school and daycare alike! I am back to having my Fridays off, so we have been starting our spring adventures once again!

We have celebrated Cole's 4th birthday recently, and look forward to Andreas', Williams' (who will be legal to drink on his!!!), and Jo-Anns'. And to top off all of this excitement, we have Aunt Patricia's wedding happening in a few weeks! I think it's fair to say that we have something going on every weekend through mid-June.

The house renovations are moving along quickly and nicely. The pool is in and ready to go - just waiting to get the propane tank hooked up to the heater and we'll be set until the fall!!!

Erin and I are off to Florida to visit North Bay Grampa on Thursday, so that's our big excitement for the week. Erin is beside herself with giddiness because we are going to Disney World for a day! My heavens! You should hear her plans to meet the princesses, Mickey, Minnie.... I think I'll come back exhausted!!! It should be an absolute blast! Gord is staying home to continue to work on the basement renovations. His plan to to have everything painted and the flooring in to the main part of the area. It's all very exciting!

So, how will I spend Mother's Day? Erin and I are going to be digging up flowerbeds and planting new flowers. It sounds heavenly!

Have a good one!
