Happy Valentine's Day

OMG! I cannot believe that it has nearly been one month since I have posted to the blog! Shame on me! I guess that means I have been busy!

So, here are the updates:

Gord - he is coming along nicely! We met with his surgeon in January and he was pleased with Gord's progress. He had his x-rays taken - a nice plate and nine screws are what is holding his heel bone together! He still does not have clearance to walk yet - not likely until the end of March at the earliest. He is however off of the medication now and is driving again. He has even gone into work a couple of times a week for the past few weeks. It's only been for a few hours - his foot still swells up when it's not up - but I think it has helped his sanity to get out of the house for a few hours. He is also going to physiotherapy twice weekly now and they are happy with how he is progressing. We are back to see Gord's surgeon on February 26th for another check up, so we'll see how things are going from an x-ray point of view again soon!

Erin - Well, we have had birthday parties, have been sick, and have just finished off a week that saw 3 Valentine's Day parties! This all translates to Erin is doing great! Her reading is really coming along too. I cannot believe how many words she recognizes now and can spell them without any help! I continue to be amazed at how little ones learn language!

Kim - I'm doing fine. I'm tired, but fine. I think exhaustion finally got the better of me when I caught whatever bug Erin had a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully it didn't last too long! Work has been pretty busy, and I have also been busy playing with my kiln! Yes, I have finally fired it up and have been making some really nice pendants! I can't believe how many I have sold! I'm just charging enough to maintain my hobby - fusing glass is pricey!

So, it's Valentine's day tomorrow. Aunt Elaine is coming to stay with us for the weekend and we are going out with as many of the family members who are able to come, for dinner Saturday evening. Monday is Family Day, so there is no school. I am going in to work, so Erin will hang out with Gord for the day. I'm sure they will have loads of fun! Next Friday, Erin is going to have a sleepover with Erika at her house - oh my, excited is a bit of an understated word to describe how Erin is feeling about this big event!

Anyway, I am going to sign off. I hope you enjoy the pics of Erin decorating the cupcakes we made for her Valentine's Day party at school!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
