Positively Pooped!!!!

It's 6:00pm on Sunday afternoon and both Gord and Erin are into their 2nd hour of napping!! What better time to check in!

We have had a busy past couple of weeks. Erin had a great time at Jasper's 3rd birthday party last Sunday. Jasper's parents rented a small hall for the event and the parents sat along the perimeter of the room watching the kids run around like a wild pack of dogs! It was hilarious!! We got some bad weather the day before and last Sunday was pretty miserable as well. On our way home from the birthday party, I was driving and lost control of the car in a slushy and slippery snow drift on the road, and next thing we were in the ditch. Thank goodness no one was hurt!!!! Someone stopped and took Gord back home - of course it didn't happen far from home - to pick up the other car. By the time he got back, several more cars had stopped to check on us - the world is still full of good samaritans!! - and a truck offered to pull the car out. Erin and I got settled in the other car and while the truck pulled my car out, Erin had a front row seat. Her comment: "Mummy, that was pretty impressive"!! Out of the mouths of babes!! So I avoided a tow charge, and the only damage was to one of the snow tires.

I was pretty shaken by the whole thing and missed another birthday party. Our friend Ray had made arrangements for a surprise party for his wife Elaine. I was disappointed to not go, but they understood, and best of all Elaine had a great time!

Monday brought the work week back for us and Erin back to daycare. On Wednesday I left for a couple of days for meetings in Ajax - I know, how can I ever hold back the excitement of going to Ajax!!!! That meant Gord and Erin were on their own. Erin managed to talk her father in to taking her out for dinner on Wednesday. I got home late Thursday, but have to admit I was happy that Erin was still awake!! I really miss her when I am away!

Friday was perhaps the most wonderful weather day we have had this year! I had countless people drop by my office and ask if as HR I had the power to send everyone home early!! I wish!!! Erin and I played outside for a while when I picked her up. It was nice to see the snow completely gone! Of course that didn't last as we were hit with a big snowstorm Saturday evening!! It's all gone again now though and it's supposed to be 18 degrees on Tuesday. Yeah for Spring!!!

Today was a fun day. Erin was invited to another birthday party, this time for a little girl named Jamie celebrating her 3rd birthday. What wonderful parents! I have met them in passing a couple of times. They were disappointed Erin was the only friend from daycare that could make it. It was an all-girls affair, that consisted of many princess things!! We then went delivering party invitations for Erin's Easter Egg Hunting Party, which is next Saturday afternoon. I think I have everything in order for it. The Easter Bunny himself, is helping me out with the hunt!!! In our delivering, we had a good visit with Richinda and Erika. I just think they are all great! We are lucky to have a super bunch of neighbours. Hopefully they can all come by next Saturday for the big party!!

Anyway, I'm going to run. Enjoy the pics and I'll check in again soon!

Hello to Malcolm and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Okay, so St. Paddy's day is tomorrow. Odds are I won't be able to post tomorrow, so wishes go out today!!

So another bunch of weeks have passed us by. I am working at home today, but decided to spend lunch adding a post!

All is going well on our end. Our routine has pretty much returned to one of normalcy, but that doesn't mean anything is boring!!! I have actually been spending a few Saturdays at work interviewing people, so Gord and Erin have had a couple of adventures on their own!! Last weekend however is likely the last weekend they will enjoy any winter activities as the warm weather and rain we have experienced this week has melted Erin's sliding hill. We have enjoyed some nice walks though on the not too muddy days!! I'm never much of a fan of this time of year because it is just so dirty, but I guess everything can be a means to an end!

Last week we had a visit from Patricia and Malcolm! Erin was very excited and demonstrated her wonderful sharing abilities. I can't believe he is 8 months old already! He is a cutie, as you can see by the pics! I just read this morning in Patricia's blog that he is crawling. Ahhhhh....her home as she knows it has changed for a while now!!! We had a great visit and I just plain can't believe how much I miss her!! We simply can't let that much time go between visits again!
This week is March break in Ontario. As we took off for a family vacation already this year, we stuck around home. There has been all kinds of fun activities they have been running at Erin's Nursery School this week - Backwards day, Winterfun day (they had a bit of snow left in the morning!!!), Fun in the Sun day, Clown Day, and today is Green day - for obvious reasons!! Erin asked what fun stuff they are going to do next week! They do such a great job there, so she expects it everyday!! We did get a note from the Nursery School telling us that Erin was going to be moving into the Kindergarten program. Her new teacher will be one of her favourites, Melissa, so that change should be a positive one for her!

This weekend we are planning a trip to a Maple Sugar bush. Neither Gord or I have been to one in years, so it should be fun. What is better than eating yummy pancakes floating in fresh maple syrup?!!

Sunday will be busy too, with Erin going to a birthday party for one of her little friends from Nursery School. She has another one next weekend, so we will be busy!!

I'm off to Toronto for work for a couple of days next week, so I will experience my 2nd night away from my baby!!

Well, I am going to sign off. I'll bring the camera to the sugar bush tomorrow, so check in for another post soon!
