January is half over...

Just when you think things slow down after Christmas, they don't!

So here are the updates:

Gord continues to recover from surgery on his heel. He had a couple of really rough days following the surgery, due primarily to the medication that he was given. I can hardly believe that poor Gord got EVERY side effect you could possibly get from these drugs. Luckily he only had to take them for four days, so once they were out of his system, he was back to himself. He is naturally very bored right now. This injury has brought a whole new level of meaning to the phrase 'cabin fever'. What really sucks is that it has been so cold and frozen over lately, that we are even a bit leary about taking him out for a drive. The last thing he needs is another injury - yikes! We are headed back to Kingston on Monday so he can have his stitches removed and x-rays taken and the doctors can check to see how he's doing. More to come after Monday.

Erin is doing her wonderful self! She is happy to be back to school / daycare and happy to be back to Sparks - the highlight of her week!! She was a little under the weather last weekend - fever, sore throat, the usual winter thing - but was feeling better Monday. Erin and I decided to get a membership at the local area swimming pool (indoor, obviously!) so she can keep up her swimming and we have a place to dream about summer and our pool! What a fabulous idea it was! The pool is a therapeutic pool, meaning it is very warm! Just how our spoiled little selves love the pool!! So we are going to go to the family swims weekly whenever we can. It should be a good way to help put the winter in. We were not planning on going away after Gord's foot injury, but part of his cabin fever has gotten him thinking that we should still go to Florida, like we were going to do before the accident. We will have to play it by ear, but I think we would all enjoy some warm weather for a week!
