Fun few days with Grampa!!

Another weekend is upon us. Erin is watching her latest favourite movie, Black Beauty and Gord is at the barn waiting for the farrier to come to trim up the horses feet.

The week positively flew by. The week for the most part was nice - a day or so with some rain, but believe it or not, after having almost 5 days straight with sun, we needed some rain!

North Bay Grampa arrived Thursday evening, so we had a nice visit and were off to bed pretty late! Friday we decided to go to Upper Canada Village for the day. It was a cool day, with the threat of rain looming, so the crowds were way down. It never rained and it was a perfect day to stroll around the village and take in the sights. The highlight for Erin was the baby pigs! It was the same thing last year!!! This year she asked us about the smokehouse.... we said that it was where they made bacon, sausage, ham, etc. I did leave out the fact that these items came from the sweet little pigs she had just been loving up.... she has lots of time to learn about those connections.
The day got nicer and nicer as it went on. We had a chance to have a nice swim before dinner. I love the pool and the heater equally as much!!!
This morning Grampa headed back, but will be back down in early August for my birthday - the big 40 this year!!!
So we have no big plans for the weekend, other than enjoying the sun and some playing outside and some swimming! Next weekend is the Ice Cream Festival, so I think we'll take that in for a couple of hours.
Enjoy the Upper Canada Village pics of Erin!!
