So, it's been a while since I've last checked in. It has been a whirlwind of a couple of weeks. April came in, well, with all the snow we had in March!! I think everyone was getting pretty tired of the snow. It has just felt like such a looooooonnnnnnnngggggggg winter. I think everyone is ready to come out from under huge winter coats and big heavy boots in favour of sandals and tees! I know we are ready for it.
Erin is all back into her regular routine. It felt like she was never going to get back into it. She has been sick on and off for the past number of weeks, but this past week marked her first full week back into everything since early March.
Work has been busy for both Gord and I. I'll get some relief at the end of April, when I return to my 4-day work week schedule (YEAH!!!!!!!) Gord has been busy with a trade show this week and next week things get a bit back to normal for him.
I met with Erin's teacher this week (school) for a review of her progress to date. I'll try not to over do the proud mum thing, but she continues to do really well!! I think the biggest challenge we will have in the fall is the fact that she is not going into Grade 1 like she is expecting to!! She figures she does so much with the Sr. Kingergarten kids that it's only natural!! The regular Kindergarten teacher is back though, so that should be enough of a change for her, although she will miss Ms. Hudson!
On the house front, basement renovations continue to progress. The entryway is all painted and the crown molding installed. Gord is, as we speak, laying the marble tile. It should look amazing!!! The fella who installed our pool last fall has been out all week getting it finished up. It's got the coping stones all around the perimeter, and the area has been compacted and ready for the stones. We decided to have him put the interlock in - Gord just wants to focus on the basement right now and this way everything will be ready well in time for the summer. I figure we will have a fully functioning pool by May!
Speaking of May, Erin and I have booked an extra long weekend trip to visit North Bay Grampa in Florida in mid-May! That should be pretty fun. My dad is pretty excited and is thinking about plans to entertain the whirlwind known as Erin for our stay!!! I figure this will give me a chance to scope things out before we go down in the fall with Jo and Chris and the boys!
Anyway, that's about it for now...
